Marvel Consulting acquires Loom: Targets doubling revenue and creating dozens of new jobs

Software consultancy Marvel Consulting has acquired Tampere-based Loom Oy. Executed on July 7th, the acquisition is a key part of Marvel Consulting’s strategic growth plan to reach a revenue of 5-7 million euros by 2027. The deal brings together over 30 top-tier experts, strengthening the company’s ability to execute larger and more demanding projects, ranging from domestic accounts to international ventures.

“We aim to grow both organically and through acquisitions. Loom is the perfect partner for us: a strong pool of talent, a compatible company culture, and complementary technical expertise make this a natural step forward. It is exciting to welcome Tero and his team – this is not just a business move, but an opportunity to learn from each other and build something even stronger together,” says Sampsa Siitonen, CEO of Marvel Consulting.

More together: Expertise that sells and employs

Both Marvel Consulting and Loom are known for their flat hierarchies, agile ways of working, and independent professionals. Loom’s senior software developers and integration specialists complement Marvel Consulting’s current service offering, while the cultural alignment ensures a smooth transition.

Following the acquisition, Loom’s CEO Tero Mäkinen will step into the role of CTO and board member at Marvel Consulting.

“Marvel Consulting provides us with a brand-new sales engine and access to direct client accounts. In return, we bring a stable, experienced team capable of taking responsibility and keeping clients satisfied from day one. Personally, I look forward to focusing more on sales, client accounts, and leveraging technical expertise together with a team that shares the same values and methods,” Mäkinen explains.

New jobs and a diverse recruitment model

The acquisition enables a significant acceleration in hiring. Marvel Consulting plans to recruit dozens of new experts by 2027. Recruitment will target both permanent employees and a broad freelancer network, allowing the company to meet the diverse and specialized needs of its clients.

“By combining our resources and expertise, we become an even more attractive employer on a national scale. Our goal is not only to grow but also to create more jobs and maintain high employment levels within our industry,” Sampsa notes.

Broader services and new markets

The acquisition opens doors to a wider client base and provides the scale needed to participate in public procurement processes that were previously out of reach. The combined expertise of Marvel Consulting and Loom now covers a broader range of technologies and project types; from software development to integrations and demanding specialized projects. One area of expertise being further strengthened is the defense industry. The Loom team brings prior experience in defense projects, which perfectly complements Marvel Consulting’s existing capabilities in the sector.
