Another year of successful traineeship with Haaga-Helia students at Marvel Consulting Group!

For the last few weeks, we have had the pleasure of welcoming two trainees into our team, Trang and Onur. They’ve been with us as a part of a course at Haaga-Helia, where they study business administration. This is the second year that we at Marvel Consulting have been a part of this course at Haaga-Helia — last year, we had Veronika and Victoria joining us for a traineeship. You can read more about their experience with us in this blog post they wrote

In this blog post, Trang and Onur introduce themselves and tell you more about their experience with us. Read their insights below, written by Trang and Onur!

Who we are: Background & Interest

Trang: I’ve always been drawn to the world of marketing, especially the creative and strategic sides of it. Before joining MCG, most of my experience was in B2C marketing — creating content, planning campaigns from a consumer-focused perspective. But B2B marketing was something completely new to me. I came in eager to learn, eager to be challenged, and ready to step into something completely outside my comfort zone.

Onur: I’m fascinated by B2B sales, CRM systems, and the mechanics of how companies build long-term relationships. Before joining MCG, I had already explored CRM tools and sales processes, but mostly in theory or in smaller-scale settings. MCG felt like the perfect place to learn, to experiment with ideas, and to make improvements that could have a real impact.

Why we chose Marvel Consulting Group

Trang: MCG works in a field I had never explored before. That alone was exciting. I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and better understand B2B marketing, a side of marketing I wasn’t very familiar with but knew would be important for my career.

Onur: What attracted me to MCG was the business model — international partnerships, subcontracting, and long-term B2B relationships that can take years. I felt this traineeship could help me deepen my knowledge while allowing me to make tangible contributions in areas I care about, like CRM and sales development.

A Supportive Environment

Something we both appreciated was how supportive the environment at MCG was.

The team always made time for our questions and encouraged open communication. We never felt hesitant to ask, clarify, or request guidance. We also appreciated that the work we did wasn’t just for practice, the team made sure our work will be put into use.

Honesty and positivity were always present, making the learning process encouraging and genuinely enjoyable. This also helped us to realize what kind of working environment we want to be in in our future roles.

Observing, Listening & Growing

One of the most valuable parts of our traineeship was being included in internal and partner meetings. Seeing how decisions are made, how communication flows, and how collaboration works gave us a strong understanding of the consulting world.

We also got to learn practical tools and skills, including:

  • How to work with sales platforms like Cinode and Pipedrive; networking and scouting platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter and Meetfrank

  • How subcontracting works in a software consulting company

  • What the B2B sales process looks like in real life

  • How to conduct foreign market research

These experiences helped us connect theory with real-world application, and we definitely feel more equipped for future career paths in marketing and sales than before.

Reflection & Career Insights

Trang: This experience showed me that B2B marketing is much more complex and in many ways more challenging than B2C marketing. I still have so much to learn about my own domain in marketing, but now I feel more confident and curious than ever. It also opened my mind to exploring new industries in the future, especially tech-related fields.

Onur: My biggest takeaway from this traineeship is understanding how B2B sales really works in practice — far beyond what you can learn from theory. I was especially proud of the positive responses I received from outreach efforts, the list of over 100 potential partners I helped build, and the encouraging feedback on the CRM automations I created. This traineeship also opened my eyes to new career possibilities. I’m now seriously considering working as a freelancer or consultant in sales development or CRM optimization.

Thank you to Onur and Trang for being with us!
